Simply put Home Town Medical is the Right to choose one’s own Doctor from within his or her own home town or community.
To date the Federal Government has fulfilled this obligation by segregating us into our own private medical system where we are use as training aids, living practice dummies, and as human guinea pigs for whatever other questionable surgical operations and/or medical treatment the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Staff wants to impose upon us.
While there are many individuals both within the Federal Government and the Veterans Community at large who firmly believe that the use of Medical Schools and Medical School Students for the care and treatment of Veterans health problems saves the Federal Government money while offering the Veteran Community high quality medical care the facts do not back this up. In fact the present system is costing the Federal Government more money than is necessary for the care and treatment of our disabilities and conditions.
Consider for just a moment the additional cost of the surgical team, operating room, and other necessary materials necessary for a second operation every time a Medical Student makes a mistake and someone else must go back in and attempt to correct or fix the damage done. Now what if this second surgical operation is again performed by another Medical Student. A Medical Student is any person who is learning some medical skill. The possibilities of the second Medical Student compounding the Veterans problems is astronomical. This is further complicate by the fact that far too many surgical procedures performed within the Department of Veterans Affairs Hospitals are performed by Medical Students who are supervised by other Medical Students and when something goes wrong neither have the experience to know what to do which leaves the Veteran in worse shape if not dead.
Because of this the Department of Veterans Affairs goes to extraordinary means to hide, conciel, and to cover up any and all medical mishaps. The Department personnel have been known to alter a Veteran’s death certificate, destroy any and all documents pertaining to a Veterans’ stay in a Department hospital, and have been known to transfer Veterans to private or state hospitals in order to deny any and all responsibility for a Veterans condition or death.
Home Town Medical Care would remove America’s Veterans out of the Department’s Hospitals and Nursing homes. It would grant every Veteran and their family the Right to file charges in a State Court of Law against any person in the medical profession who further injures or kills them due to their own medical malpractice and/or negligence. This will further remove the Federal Government completely out of the picture. Thus the Veteran and/or his or her family would not find themselves having to fight the entire Federal Government simply because of one individual’s ineptness. Since the medical provider alone would be legally responsible for their own actions. Likewise if a medical provider proves to be so totally inept at his profession that he or she should be denied the ability to continue practicing medicine. The Department, through the Department of Justice, would then be free to step in and insure that the medical practitioner will never ever again practice medicine in any other State as well as the State in which they are practicing medicine in at the time.
Home Town Medical Care will save the American Tax Payers billions of dollars every year in unnecessary medical expenses as well as in disability and death benefits due to the Department’s own medical staff’s incompetence , neglect and ineptness. It will also save America’s Veterans from the abuses they are forced to suffer now as well as the continued suffering they must live with due to a Medical Student’s inexperience and inpompetence.
